Holy One,
Bless this good and faithful man,
Who stands at your altar,
inviting your Sprit upon simple gifts and humble people.
Bless this good and faithful man,
Who embraces our suffering,
anointing our sick with the oil of compassion.
Bless this good and faithful man,
who welcomes death in faith,
blessing graves and beloved bodies,
consoling those astonished by grief.
Bless this good and faithful man,
who cradles new life, wriggling in white,
drenched in your saving grace.
Bless this good and faithful man,
who joins together fragile flesh,
naming a love that gives all for a lifetimes,
receiving that love as blessing for the kingdom.
Bless this good and faithful man,
who listens to souls that ache with remorse,
forgiving in time what has kept us from loving,
from embracing the freedom hard won by the Son.
Bless this good and faithful man,
who follows the trail of the Good Shepherd,
who lays down his life for his sheep.
