What’s Changed?

What’s New?  In short,
a few things and lots of words.  Much has been said about changes.   With a new edition in 2000 of the Roman Missal, the book of prayers and readings that guide our Mass, a few things changed in the rules that regulate how Mass is celebrated.  More importantly, many saints and feasts which had been added to the Roman calendar since the Missal of Pope Paul VI were added with their texts.

As the Missal of Pope John Paul II was translated from Latin into English, a different, more literal method of translation was used.  Although most of the prayers remain the same in Latin, they will now sound a bit different in English.
